We started off the meeting with a bit of Q&A. In summary:
Palettes in Adobe products are now referred to as Panels. Branding, folks, it’s all about branding. Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe, this is why I like using an overhead projector during presentations. *chuckle*
Master Pages Use them when you have document pages with repetitive elements. By placing items on a master page, time is saved adding the item repeatedly to document pages. An InDesign document can have multiple master pages. Master pages are a good place to add auto-page numbers, or adjust document margins & columns. Remember that master page items are locked on the document page. Use the Page panel’s option menu to override all master page elements, or use CMD+SHIFT (Mac) or CTRL+SHIFT (PC) while clicking on any item to select it on a document page.
End Notes Alternatively titled “How To Stump The Presenter.” Many thanks to Kevin who never ceases to keep my ego in check. *chuckle* Endnotes can be found within the Type menu under Footnotes, but there is also a plug-in that expands on the default InDesign functions. It’s called InFnote (www.virginiasystems.com/products_d.html), and it’s available from Virginia Systems on both Mac & PC.
Lisa Forrester showcased some of the new features in the CS3 versions of Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash. Highlights included video tutorials accessible from Bridge, selection & clone options in Photoshop, “live color” options in Illustrator, and the increased compatibility of Flash with both Illustrator & Photoshop.
