About me
Douglas Hanna is a member of the Document Publishing Technology team at Hewitt Associates.
Doug is responsible for product management - corporate licensing and supplier relationship - and product expertise in Adobe Acrobat (Elements, Standard and Professional) as well as Adobe Reader.
Doug's specialties include Enterprise deployment of Acrobat and Reader using Adobe's Enterprise Customization Wizard, as well as corporate subject matter expert on .PDF, PDF Libraries, PostScript, Production CD-ROM and the needs of the transaction print industry.
How I Use Acrobat
I primarily use Acrobat to diagnose, correct, or suggest enhancements on how other associates use the product. My primary role is not to produce output for others. My role is to make others more productive with the tools (Acrobat being one of them) at hand.
I am the third-level (highest) product support person at Hewitt Associates on product usage. My responsibilities include packaging, package customization, licensing, distribution, end-user usage and support for a 6,000+ user environment. Associates are in all facets of the company, general office worker, production print, graphic arts, facilities, project management and IT.
My Skills
I am the "go to" person to ask if Acrobat is not working correctly, how to use it more effectively or to expand its usage (both licensing and technical) within the environment. Because of this, I have to be well versed in the day-to-day usage of the product within the environment, along with a detailed understanding of Acrobat. The use of the Optimizer, color and print to aid our production output folks. JavaScript and Batch Processing options to support repetitive rework for office workers. Editing and interactive tools to finesse the final PDF for client consumption.
