Word to PDF conversion of shapes

When converting a Word doc to PDF, any shapes (specifically triangles) used in Word are shown in the PDF as a rectangle with the areas that are not filled in with the original shape as a black background. Is there a setting in the conversion options that would allow for this NOT to happen. I only want the triangle that I originally created to appear.

Re: Word to PDF conversion of shapes

HOW are you creating the PDF from Word?

When I use the "Create Adobe PDF" button installed by Acrobat, I get the exact shapes that I expect - including all fills and transparency!
