After installing Acrobat 8 Prof on a Vista, Business version, notebook, Word 2003 was disabled. Can only use Word 2003 in safe mode. How can I fix this?

In the lower right panel of the page, under Related Resources, click the title - "Windows Vista Compatibility"

Also make sure your Word 2003 and Acrobat applications have the latest updates.
