July 2008
Topic of the month: “PDF Portfolios”
June was a big month in the world of Adobe Acrobat and PDF, with the announcement and shipping of the Acrobat 9 family of products. Accordingly, we made a change in our scheduled eSeminar for last month, offering a free online introduction titled “Acrobat 9: A revolutionary release.” If you missed it, we’ve posted an archived version for on-demand viewing.
The abrupt switch bumped the previously announced eSeminar topic, which disappointed some members of the user community. So we responded by offering a second eSeminar last month, which also has been archived and can be viewed at your convenience – titled “Acrobat 8 tips & tricks.”
This month’s free eSeminar — “PDF Portfolios and Beyond” — takes a closer look at one of the new Acrobat 9 features, an enhancement of the PDF Packages capability introduced in the previous version. You can still register for the July 16 event (10 a.m. US Pacific/1 p.m. US Eastern), which will be led by Acrobat 9 experts Ian Campbell and Matt Wicks. Other experts will be available in the AUC Forums to answer your questions following the session through the end of the month.
And there’s more! We’ve posted more than two dozen video tutorials on Acrobat 9, from working with forms to adding Flash to PDFs. Also, several of our bloggers have been sharing their early insights and impressions.
If you’re one of the early users of Acrobat 9, we’re eager to have you share your experiences, tips and questions with other members of the community by participating in relevant forum discussions. Of course, we also welcome queries and input from those working with earlier versions, too.
Best Regards
~ Kurt, Editor, AcrobatUsers.com
