Hi All,

I imported an Inventor 3D model into 3D Reviewer and created a small animation using the Create Animation function in 3D Reviewer. Once this was done, I exported the file to u3d format and then imported it into my FrameMaker 8.0 document. When I generate the PDF, the animation is gone.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you...

Hello,

Well I'm afraid the workflow you describe will not be possible with 3D Reviewer in the current release. Animations created in 3DR are treated differently than in the previous release. The annimations are not created within U3D framework, so when you export the U3D they are not there. There are some work-arounds you can try. First, annimations can be saved back to one of the PDF templates that ship with Acrobat Pro Extended and 3D Reviewer. Custom templates can also be created. They can also be saved as AVI's in 3DR and imported into PDF where they are converted to SWF and play in the embedded Flash Player. If that path does not work for you, you might look at a product call Deep Exploration from Right Hemisphere. U3D files exported from this product can contain animations. There are several other animation tools on the market that can be used in a similar way. So, you have several options. If you need more, give us a shout.
