When i bring ain a .u3d file in Acrobat 3D, the default background colour is a dark grey. If i change this and save the file as a pdf, then re-open the pdf file, the backgound colour is dark grey again. How can i change the colour permanently?

If you make a change to the background color of a 3D Annotation using the 3D toolbar and then save the PDF file, it is true that the the color change is not persistent.

If you want to permanently change the background color, you must change the 3D Annotation properties explicitly and then save the PDF file. To do this:

1) Disable the 3D Annotation if it is enabled
2) Choose the 'Select Object' from the Advanced Editing Toolbar
3) Right click on the 3D Annotation and select 'Properties'
4) Choose 'Edit Content'
5) Change the 'Default Background Color' on the 'Add 3D Content Dialogue'
6) Select 'Retreive Poster from Default View' to update the bitmap displayed when the 3D Annotation is disabled
7) Select OK, Close, etc to apply changes
8) Save the PDF file.

NOTE: You may want to choose 'Save As' at this point to discard any string of edit changes you have made to the PDF file.
