My copy of Acrobat X Pro doesn't recognize known good IGES and STEP files for importation. Is there something in Preferences or elsewhere that needs to be activated?

Hi,

this requires "3D PDF Converter" : http://www.tetra4d.com/3dpdf

Actually, it requires a whole new operating system!! Tetra4D software is Windows-only, because Acrobat 9 Pro Extended was Windows-only.

To import 3D models without Tetra4D you must convert the model files into U3D or PRC format using external tools - either as a native export from the CAD software which you used to build the model, or via a dedicated translation tool. Pretty much all the industry-standard 3D translators (Deep Exploration, PolyTrans, etc.) are Windows-only.

Merlin: I still have PC with Acrobat Pro 9 Extended, but wanted to use the 3D PDF app on the MacBook Pro. Is there an external tool that could be installed on the Mac to convert to U3D or PRC?
