No color with 3D capture

Hi from France,

I want to capture a 3D model from the Comsol software (multiphysics modelling by Finite Element Method, Open GL compliant). I try to do it with an evaluation version of Acrobat 9 pro extended.
I manage to import the structure of the model in acrobat but all the colors (associated to thermal gradient) disappear during the process.
When I right click on the 3D objet to open it with Adobe 3D reviewer, the true colors appear again, which proves that they have been taken into account, but there is no way to export or save it in a pdf file : when I do this, colors disappear again.

Please, can anyone give me the solution?
I have to validate this, before buying the license.

Hello,

I've got something new.
I can read the pdf file with colors on some computer and not on others. For all of them I loaded my pdf with Acrobat Reader 8.2.2. I quickly checked respective "Preferences". They seem to be the same.
So the problem doesn't come from the file, wich includes colors, but from the configuration of the computer.

Any idea for the reason why?
What can I do to make my pdf file universal?

Thanks in advance.

I finally get the solution to see colors on all computers by using the "software" converter instead of "DirectX 9" (in "Preferences" menu) of the Acrobat Reader. This make the visualisation slower when moving the 3D model, but it works.

So I decided to buy Acrobat 9 pro Extended, being happy of this result. I installed it yesterday on a new computer dedicated to FEM calculation.

Now, I've got a new problem :

The 3D capture which worked on XP Pro 32 does'nt work anymore on XP Pro 64.
My new computer needs this system cause I have to handle 48 GB of RAM.
Now, when I press the "Print Screen" touch to activate 3D capture, nothing happens.

Does anybody have an idea of what happens?
Is there a patch for Acrobat Pro to work on 64 bits systems?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

It seems that there is some very basic problem with embedding 3D model in PDF?

I am evaluating using Acrobat to embed 3D model in PDF allowing users to put comments and additional images.

I can successfully create a PDF with the 3D model but the color is not there.

tried both *.stl and *.obj.

Any idea where is the problem?
