hello,
i m new in here,
i know it s possible to display a picture or a video on a topic like this

i know it s possible to display flash objet whit this : [flash][/flash]
but how it s possible to display pdf ? particulary 3d pdf like this one : http://uvsar.blogspot.com/2008/10/version-sniffing-for-inline-pdf-files.php

i think it s a powerful way of collabaration to mix the ability to post and to display 3d

If you're talking about this forum specifically, then no - the BBcodes available in here don't include an object tag. If you mean on other sites, then there's no technical reason why you couldn't add the new functionality to the BBcode library, for example by creating a [pdf] tag that renders the html object structure needed to embed a PDF. One slight problem is that the tag can't automatically sense the dimensions to use, and the BBcode parser isn't generally written to allow tags to contain several attributes such as [pdf width=xx height=xx]. It's possible, but a pain to code.

However, the more powerful the BBcode features on a site, the more possibility there is for abuse. Embedding a member-submitted PDF directly in the page means it loads automatically, and if the PDF has been crafted to do something malicious, visitors to the site would be extremely easy to target - it's the reason very few public forums allow the [flash] tag. By sticking to clickable text links, each visitor has the option to decide if they want to "risk" opening the document or not.

ok, let imagine that BBcode is enable, and particulary flash whit [flash][/flash] how to display a pdf whit this code ??
Can we design a BBcode that works like the video s one : you have to click on a play button to launch the video, the video don t load until you click ...
