Will stuff built using SketchUp work in Acrobat 3D? Or is it mostly AutoCad. You can tell I haven't worked with 3D in Acrobat but I want to find out some things before getting to far into it. The only 3D experience I have had was Macromedia's Extreme 3D and I had great fun with it.

Hi, StevenD
I just stumbled upon your query, and it seems the new Sketchup 7 Pro can do the trick. I haven't tried it myself but the video at Google's SU site explicitly says so. If you can't find the video let me know at vluthra [at] dizidox [dot] com.
All the best ...

Thanks for responding. I will check it out. I found an open source 3D app called Art of Illusion that will export to the .obj format and I can bring that in to Acrobat. It just brings it in as plain objects without textures and colour. I wish I could find something affordable at this point that would keep textures and colours if that is even possible.

So again thanks for the response.

Geometry exported to the *.3ds format with Sketchup Pro can be easily imported into Acrobat. No problem!
