wireframe

I use PDF files to make schematic drawings available to the design and manufacturing teams. We have been using Acrobat Reader 7 for that and things would look funny until "View>Wireframe" is enabled. That is all lines that were not orthogonal and strait would appear gray in the full page view until that option was enabled. With out it you would have to zoom in a lot to see the drawing clearly.

I just tried to use version 8 on a couple of new workstations and it does not have the wireframe option so all drawing look unacceptable. Can the same result be achieved with version 8 or must we lock our selves into version 7? Is their something wrong with the pdf files we are generating?

Thanks!

Acrobat 8 has the same option - it just moved in the preferences.

Also, I suspect that the problem MAY be the way you creating the PDFs in the first place. I suggest you contact Adobe Technical support to review your creation methodology.

Ok! I have now reinstalled Acrobat reader 8 to try it. I have been unable to find any option in the preferences that looks like it might relate to the 'wireframe' checkbox in Acrobat 7. Where might this option be or what is it called now?

So Adobe Acrobat 8.0 is useless when it comes to viewing schematics in pdf format? Without a wireframe viewing option, I cannot see how ver. 8.0 is a step forward. How was this issue (brought up last year, 2007) resolved by Adobe?

I am having the same "WireFrame" issue. I am not creating pdf I am only reading them and cannot influence how they are generated. My company forced us from Adobe 7 to 8. I cannot find "WireFrame" in ver 8 in preverences. And cannot find a way to resolve the "washed out" appearance. Has anyone found a solution?

The wireframe view can be selected from the Model Render Mode icon in the 3D toolbar or by right clicking the object in the 3D scene and selecting Viewing Options, then Model Render Mode.

Wireframe can be activated in Acrobat Reader V8 by doing the following :

1. Open Adobe Reader V8
2. Goto... Edit, Preferences
3. Under Categories ...select Page Display
4. Under Rendering ......change 'Smooth Text:' to None
5. Untick ...Smooth line art
6. Untick ...Smooth images
7. Select 'OK'

Cheers !
