When we tag PDFs we do not necessarily concern ourself that the tag is a or tags. Especially, when converted from Quark, you can't always get great tag output. We basically work to get the tags in the correct sequential order, but disregard the actual types of tags. Now, we have upgraded to Jaws 7, and it is reading the name of the tags. so, in the case, when we've put text in a tag, its reading 'Graphic: then the text. Is this ok? Or, is this not considered up to snuff in terms of accessiblity? Thanks!

You really need to test all tagged files with a screen reader to determine whether the file is truly tagged for alternative reading. If your work consistently involves creating tagged PDFs you need to make accessible to screen readers you need to start with a good source applcation. Programs like Adobe InDesign or MS Word will provide some better options for you. You can check the tags in Acrobat and often need to edit tags and add alt tags to make the documents accessible.
