Hi, I am using Acrobat Professional V8 for creating accessible PDFs. I noticed that the language setting is not being displayed when im opening the PDF file using Acrobat Reader V9.
In Acrobat Professional, the language setting was done is below:
File --> Properties --> Advanced, Language field set to "English US."

However, when I opened the document in Acrobat Reader and checked the properties (for accessability), the Language field appears blank.

Can someone explain and provide a solution to fix this?
Thanks in advance..

Do you have Acrobat and Reader installed on the same system?

Adobe Reader is not going to display 'Language' when the Advanced tab of the PDF's Document Properties is viewed.

When a Tagged output PDF is provided by updated versions of Adobe FrameMaker or MS Word (Office 2000 forward) the local machine's designated local language will, by default, be provided to the 'Language' attribute of the first element in the PDF's structure tree. This can be validated by viewing the Properties of the first element (tag).
.
If it is desired to populate the 'Language' in the Advanced tab of the PDF's Document Properties Acrobat Pro can be used to do so. This can be done manually or via a Batch Sequence (Action when using Acrobat X) that utilizes a Preflight Profile to add the desired language.
.
