word 2000 and Acrobat X Pro compatibility?

Hello,

I am a new user of Acrobat X Pro which I installed today using the 30-day trial. While I have no problems opening Excel 2000 or PowerPoint 2000 (and see the Adobe PDF printer), I cannot open Word 2000. What can I do to work around this very serious problem?

Office 2000 is not supported by Acrobat X, nor was it supported by Acrobat 9. There are no workarounds other than to upgrade Office to at least 2003, or revert to an old copy of Acrobat 8 if you have one (you can't buy new copies).
