Is it possible for only part of a PDF document to download from a website and the pages downloaded still open and view okay, effectively giving a 'part document'?

Reader 6.0, Windows

Yes, it's possible. If "fast web view" is enabled in both the file and the application used to open it, then the file will be displayed as it loads. However, this is not a "corruption", unless the process is stopped half way through, of course.
