I shared a document for review and comments with Acrobat Pro 8. Sever al people added comments using Acrobat Reader 8 and some used Reader 9. When I click check for comments using Acrobat 8 Pro it never recognizes any comments have been made.
If I make a comment with Acrobat Pro 8 everyone else using Reader 8 and 9 can see it.

I would like to use Acrobat Pro 8 to review peoples comments but I have only been able to see the comments using Acrobat Reader 8 or 9.

We had similar issues and had to move the location of our comment server. Were still not sure what caused the problem but it may have been Windows SP3. However removing the service pack does not remove the problem.

I am having a similar problem with Acrobat Pro 8 on my laptop. The problem first occurred while connected through a VPN. The problem healed itself when I connected directly to the company network. Now the problem persists and I don’t know where next to look. Adobe tech support told me that offline problems are “usually” due to user privileges but I own the directories.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Out of desperation I moved all files from
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\ into a newly created subfolder, restarted Acrobat but nothing improved.
Quit Acrobat 8 and killed C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\AdobeCollabSync.exe

Downloaded and installed Reader 9.0. Reader 9 could instantly see the server.
Closed Reader 9 (but left C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AdobeCollabSync.exe running)

Attempted to start Acrobat 9. Wouldn't run.

Had to kill C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AdobeCollabSync.exe before Acrobat 8 would load and run.

Acrobat 8 loaded, ran and can see the server. :-)
