Acrobat Pro Versions 7 and 8 Compatibility

Hi,

I am at a new job where my fellow technical writers use Acrobat Professional 7.0 and I do not have Acrobat installed on my machine.

If I install 8.0 and they do not upgrade, will there be backward/forward compatibility issues?

You shouldn't experience problems with viewing/printing PDF files for Acrobat 7 users. There are some new features in Acrobat 8 such as PDF PAckages that are viewed differently in Acrobat 7, however 7 and above users can still view and print PDF Package files created in Acrobat 8.

Thanks for the reply.

However, sharing files in my department means more than collectively viewing and printing. Really, it's collaboration that concerns me (editing each other's files, etc.).
