Adobe 8 Comments Crashes ?

Hi everyone...

we're using Adobe 8 to add comments (post its, mostly) to PDFs in collaboration. We access the PDF inline, in our Firefox and IE6 browsers and most of the time it works fine, but every once inawhile (every day or two) when you go to add a comment, the 'Send and Receive Comment' bar starts to Flash and the document locks up, with all comments lost.

Has anybody else experienced this happening ?

Thanks

This happens when a client works on two different PDF documents at once, with the comments repository on a web server.

I have been speaking to Adobe Acrobat support for 1 week now.

They have now said while that web-based commenting IS supported, any problems that we are experiencing with them are the fault of SOAP and therefore in the domain of Microsoft.

I'm not getting support from Adobe on this issue. Our only recourse now seems to be to roll back to a previous version - Acrobat 7 , which works for us.

Adobe Technical Support (Shawn) was able to reproduce this on their end.

It appears that there is only a workaround at this time - reinstall version 8.0 as opposed to version 8.1.1

I have been misinformed several times by Adobe support who, with all due respect, appear to be extremely disorganized.

The 1-800 number apparently does have the ability to issue licenses and downloads for version 8.0.

There are serious problems with Adobe support.

No one seems to know how to get me a version 8.0 download. Sometimes I'm told it's impossible, sometimes I"m told that an email to the download site will be sent in 15 minutes.

This is frankly ridiculous.
