When I try setting a document to shared review on a network share it works great, but it is creating a copy of the review document in the originating folder and the shared review folder I have created on the server. It didn't do this under Adobe 8. What am I missing here?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.4.1, Windows

Doc Reviews are one of the more popular features of Acrobat and so they were one the things that went through major changes in all the recent versions of Acrobat 7 - 10. I don't believe the copies have any affect on review process since the comments themselves are stored in XML or FDF files on the shared folder. This is just an operational change on the Adobe side. There is nothing to worry about. Ignore that man behind the curtain;)

I understand its not a functional issue, it's an issue because it's creating an extra "review" .pdf file for no reason. Our Server admins are a PITA about extra/duplicate documents on the server and this is causing us issues as the end users are having to to remember to go back and delete the extra review .pdf

Why, what difference does it make if there is an extra document? The server admins are one thing, but end users do not need to be aware it even exists.

They see it, it's created in the same directory their original document came from. So when they go to open another document they are seeing this extra review file for no reason. It just doesn't make any sense, this didn't happen in 8, why all of a sudden now in 9?
