Is there a way to control which side of the callout tool box the arrow connects to? When I select a location for the callout tool box, the arrow connects to either the top of the box, or the bottom of the box. Can I force the arrow to connect to the right or left side of the box?
Thanks in advance

The placement of where the arrow connects depends on the angle between your arrow and text box. Try selecting the callout tool, then click and hold the mouse and drag it around the document. You'll notice that the angle difference between the point where you start and end determine the connection location.

I tried clicking and holding as I place the callout tool on the document, but as soon as I click, the box is inserted with the point of the arrow right where I clicked. I don't get the opportunity to drag around to make the arrow connect to the box on different sides. Do I have to change a setting to get this?

kaliona (& Lori),
I suspect that, with Acrobat Professional 7, what Lori describes won't happen.

On two different computers that each have Acrobat Professional 7 I've observed:
The arrow from the callout text box can be on the left or right side of the text box. (just the opposite of what kaliona reports)

I select the text box and click-drag the box 360 degrees around the arrow head. The arrow remains "fixed" to one side of the text box. I can get the arrow to the opposite side by dragging the focal point at the arrow's base.

Nothing I do will put the arrow/text box connection at the top or bottom.

With that said, I can, however, do what Lori suggests in Acrobat Professional 8 and Acrobat 3D.
