Callouts misbehaving if moved

Uncooperative dragging behavior of callout handles is frustrating my attempts to position my callouts. And all four keyboard arrow keys only move the thing down. The callout's arrow grows, then refuses to resize, and creates knees unpredictably.

Are these things happening to anyone else? Acrobat Pro Version 9.2.0, Mac OS 10.5.8

Also, this is version 9.2.0, but that is not one of the available choices on the forum's drop-down menu, so i had to choose 9.1.

Also -- the instructions for setting the commenting tool preferences in Acrobat 8 do not work for Acrobat 9 -- how do I change the format of the text in the comments?

Select the text, then hit : CMD + E
(Windows : CTRL + E)
