I am a new Acrobat 9 Pro user (I previously used Acrobat 5). I would like to add highlights and notes to the documents I am reading, but they are grayed-out when I try to access these tools from Tools->Comment&Markup. How can I add these things to the document?

Also, if the PDF was created using LiveCycle Designer a large number of Acrobat features become unusable due to the basic technology creating the form and there will no security setting showing, except the creater and maybe a comment aobut the PDF being created by LiveCycle Designer.
Did you check that ?
