Can't view comments

Hello,
I'm trying to view comments in Acrobat 8 professional. Comments-->Comment view-->Show comments list causes a pop up that blinks on and off very quickly. In that same menu, the "Show all comments" is grayed out. It used to work just fine.

Thanks for you help, DansenT. Our tech support was able to load an upgraded version of acrobat 8 which solved the problem for me.
