Hi,

I'm using acrobat reader 9, when I open my pdf file that I enable the usage rights for acrobat reader.

When I open my pdf in acrobat browser plugin, I can't have the "Comment & Markup" toolbar.

when a PDF is open in browser plugin, you can't change annotation even though you can do it by programmation?

Thank you

The availability of the Comment & Markup toolbar within the browser is only triggered when you use the "Send for Shared Review Command". Here is another related post if you're interested:

Hi Ikassuba,

Maybe I did it wrong, but I have a pdf that I have the rights enable and I also use "Send for Share Review Command", but I still don't see my Markup Toolbar in acrobat when is a browser plugin.

Can you tell me please how you put a pdf for "Send for Share Review Command"(Maybe I miss a step)?

Thank you again

Lisa,

I have a similar problem.

I started a shared review, using Acrobat Pro 8.1.2, selected Reader-enabled, and MS Outlook 2003 SP3 on Windows XP Professional SP2. Several people have published comments successfully.

But, in 1 case, the "Review & Comment" toolbar does not show up at the top of the page/PDF, and the guy cannot add comments. In other words, the Document Message Bar (the yellow/light tan bar with the Publish Comments and Check for New Comments buttons) is NOT showing up.He is opening the link from the original invite, using Internet Explorer (IE) version 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp.051011-1528 (Java enabled), Windows XP Professional SP2, Reader 8.1.2. He does not have Acrobat. I am not sure if he has third-party browser extensions enabled.

I am especially confused because this shared review is working for other reviewers. I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

chaida, I think lkassuba is referring to selecting "Send for Shared Review" from the Comments menu. If you select "Enable for Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader" first, I am pretty sure "Send for Shared Review" will not be allowed.

The Send for Shared Review enables commenting for use in both the browser and Acrobat/Reader in Acrobat 9 -- so this is the command you need to use. However, the tools are disabled (in version 9) when the review has ended. Perhaps this is the problem.

Do you see the toolbar in the standalone version of Acrobat and/or Reader?
