Condensed toolbar when viewing pdfs in a browser

I have Adobe Acrobat 8.1 Professional installed on my workstation. I have my preferences set to "Display PDF in browser." However, when clicking on a pdf link in the browser I do not get full 8.1 toobars only a condensed version.

If I deselect the "Display PDF in browser" and click on a PDF link in the browser then 8.1 product opens and I do not have the browser toolbar.

How can I display a pdf in the browser and get full editing capabilities? I had this option with Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.0999999999999996447286321199499070644378662109375, Windows

As I recall, this is not possible with recent versions of Acrobat. To get "full toolbar" access, you need to be editing a file-system accessible PDF.

Duff, I'm not sure what you mean by "you need to be editing a file-system accessible PDF" to get the full toolbar.

Would it be possible to send you a file that explains this better? I have 3 scenarios that are all accessing the same PDF file in a browser. The file I am using is located at the Acrobat Users site: http://www.acrobatusers.com/tech_corners/loris_corner/index.php and is under the topic Validating XML data against a schema.

My example has screen prints of:
1. Adobe Acrobat 6 Professional with this file open and the toolbar in which I have added an "Approved" stamp to the file.

2. Same file, only using another workstation with Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional showing the "condensed" toolbar in the browser.

3. Same file, Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional with changing edit, preferences to not view in browser.

This time when double clicking on the link it opens Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional showing the full toolbars and I have added an "approved stamp".

I think we are going a step backwards by losing this capability in a browser.
