Definitive SharePoint requirements resource?

Hi,

Is there a single resource I can hand to my IT department so that we can confirm whether or not our SharePoint server can host online collaboration? Ideally, it would also have instructions on how to configure SharePoint to allow shared review and form serving.

The strange thing is that I had it all working a year ago using Acrobat 8 and an earlier version of the MS SQL/SharePoint server, but now it doesn't seem to work. (Or is it because I'm now using a Mac in a Windows networked world?)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

My understanding is that reviews can only be initiated with a windows client but mac clients can participate. Are you initiating the review on Mac?

Hi,

Thanks for the response. Actually, at this point, I'd be happy either way, I've tried from both a Windows workstation and my own Mac, but haven't been able to get it working.

I'm trying to rule out everything and since I'm getting weird messages from the server, I'm wondering if it’s a SharePoint configuration issue.

I seem to recall a technical support document for Acrobat 8 talking about how to configure SharePoint Services for Acrobat reviews and was wondering if there was a similar resource for Version 9.

Thanks again,
Gary

P.S., I just checked out the seminar you mentioned and have bookmarked it for further, more focussed review. Will post back if there's an answer within.

Here is a link to the document you are referring to Setup and Administration Guide for Online Collaboration. It hasn't been updated for 9 unfortunately but a lot of the information is still useful.

What version of SharePoint are you using and what type of error are you getting?
