Delete page and the comments on the page remain in file on another page

I am using Acrobat X Pro for creating submittals and manuals. I have some PDF files that I have saved to use as templates, with comments (lines & arrows & text) on many of the pages. I move the lines and arrows around to point to whatever items are relevant for the specific manual I am creating. However, it's also necessary to frequently delete pages for items that are not included in the current piece of equipment the manual is for. However, when I delete a page with comments on it, those comments don't delete, but are put on an adjoining page and then I have to go delete them manually (if I am lucky enough to see that they are there). Why don't the comments get deleted with the page they are on?

Comments in Acrobat aren't tied directly to the page they are on. They are a separate entity from the actual pages.

Thanks Kelly. So there is no setting where I can force them to be tied to the page?

It's possible to create a script that will allow you to delete one or more pages, with all of the annotations that are connected with them.
