document reviews/server space?

We are trying to get started using Acrobat 8 for document reviews. However, the only thing we can find to post the shared files is to post them on an http...and we're not allowed to post files outside of our own internal network server or ftp site. Is there some way to share the files on an FTP site or internal server, but give folks outside our server walls access to review the files?

Is there a safe, secure place we can place the files that will make our IT folks here more comfortable that no one else is going to take our intellectual property and break into our files?

Thanks

You might look into using a web server running WebDAV . It can be setup in a secure manner and supports remote users. WebDAV is a set of extensions to the HTTP 1.1 protocol and allows remote users to cooperatively edit and manage files on web servers via the Internet. This type of repository can be used with shared reviews and browser-based reviews.

That helps. We just met with our in-house IT folks, and now I need to know if there's an existing on-line collaboration space that we could use? We don't have a webDAV currently, and we're not sure how quickly it will be available to us. But maybe there's an existing secure space we could have access to for file sharing?

Thanks for your help.
