In Acrobat 8, I can select "Enable for Comment and Analysis in Acrobat Reader..."
from the Commenting Menu.

This option is not available in Acrobat 7. Is there another of doing this in some other way in 7?

Hi --

No there isn't. That functionality was introduced in Acrobat 8. Sorry.

Hi catwood,

You can Reader enable a PDF for Commenting in Acrobat Pro 7. It is located under the Document menu -> Enable For Commenting and Analysis in Adobe Reader.Additional enabling rights were added to Acrobat 8 Pro, such as save rights.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

I am having a similar problem, I can enable usage rights in Adobe Professional 8 and comment and markup using Adobe Reader 8, however when I open the PDF in Internet Explorer it will not allow me to toggle the toolbar for commenting and marking. How can I enable the toolbar in Internet Explorer so I can use commenting and markup?

I'm sorry, I don't see the answer to my question in the other forum linked above. #8 almost addresses my problem, except that I can currently enable commenting in Professional 8 but nobody can enable commenting in Adobe Standard once it opens in Internet Explorer. I can set the enable comments, but the end user cannot do the same when they open the document.

8. Acrobat Professional 8 will be able to reader-enable a shared review, allowing Reader 8 users to participate in the review. Browser-based review requires everyone to have Acrobat Standard or Professional.
