fdf files

I would like to create an fdf file to import annotations into my pdf file. Up until now my efforts have been limited to exporting existing annotations (created using the Text Box Tool), editing them using wordpad and then importing the revised statements back into my pdf file. In addition, by trial and error, I have eliminted a number of the parameters that seemed unnecessary, but it doesn't always work.

Do you know where I can get some documentation on how to generate fdf statments, the format of the parameters, what the parameters mean and which parameters are required or optional?

I'd appreciate some guidance.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7.0, Windows

You can download the Acrobat Forms Data Format (FDF) Toolkit from the Acrobat Developer Center.
