I have two users running Acrobat 9pro that are merging multiple pdf files and then marking them up with custom stamps and comment fields. The files may range from 80 - 300 pages with comments on every page. Randomly they will get to a point where the software will not let them add another comment and must close Adobe. When they open, the file tries to restore and the restore is now corrupted. They can not make any more additions to the file. Any thoughts on the cause would be greatly appreciated as it is my 2 financial people and even though I tell them to save often, they tend to loose 2-3 hours of work every time.
You can try this technique to identify the pages that have invalid annotation objects on them:
1. Document > Extract Pages and select "Extract Pages As Separate Files".
2. Set the destination to a 'dedicated' folder that won't contain any other files and click OK.
3. During the extraction, click OK in all the message boxes that appear.
4. After the extraction, look in the destination folder to see which pages are missing -- these will be the pages that have invalid annotation objects.
