Highlighting in a comment & markup text box

I have been trying to figure out if it is possible to highlight the text in a text box from the tools menu under cmment & markup? I have abode acrobat 8 standard. Your help will be much appreciated.

Hmm, well you can change the color of a piece of text in the popup of a comment annotation. This is a way of highlighting, and it can be done through the "properties" toolbar. Or if you are talking about a "FreeText" annotation, the text can also be colored with the properties toolbar. Is this what you mean or did you have something else in mind?

I am trying to highlight text in a fillable pdf. I can highlight everything but the text I have typed in to a text box. Can you help?

I am using Acrobat 9 Standard.

You can't add a highlight annotation to text in a text box. If you want to do so, you'll have to flatten the file first.
