We're having an issue with highlighting and I'm out of idea to help my users:

1) User received a PDF which had highlighting that had thick highlighting with round ends and white space between words was also highlighted. Document properties are set to 1.6 (Acrobat 7).

2) My user swears that highlight ends were square and white space was NOT highlighted. This is the desired behavior.

Any ideas how to change? I tried PDF Optimizer and downsampled to 1.3 and 1.4 compatibility. Same behavior.

I tried on AA 8.0 and AA 9.0. Same behavior-- round ends and highlighting white space between words.

ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I think this was the way highlighting worked in much earlier versions (6 or 5).
I don't think there's a way to go back to it in the later versions.
