how to resize / shrink pasted image

Often when I paste an image into my pdfs (mostly 8.5"x11"), the image is too large and the dimensions of it extend beyond the size of a page. In such situations, I have not found a way to grab corners or sides off the image to shrink the image to a desired size. Right click -> properties does not show options relating to sizing. Is there a way to do this? I don't want to crop, just shrink it so it fits in the space I have on the page. Thanks.

Something to try.

With a PDF open in Acrobat, open the Advance Editing Toolbar, select the Object Tool
and then, with mouse cursor focus anywhere in/on the open PDF, right click for the context menu.
"Place Image.." is a choice.
Select it. Browse to desired file
(you may have to change to desired file type in the "Files of type:" drop-down menu).

Once the image is placed in the PDF there will be grab points at each of the four corners that can be used to re-size the image.
Note that this re-size is not particular flexible; but, it is functional.

Be well...
