Layers, or selective markup viewing/printing

What I need to do is be able to mark up a file. SOME of these markups I want to be able to 'turn on or off' from both a viewing and printing. In essence what I want is something like layers in a CADD file. I have seen some posts, but I am not sure I understand them. These will be extensive markups so a quick and easy way of ID the 'layer' would be best.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi --

I think you can do what you are describing directly from the Comments pane. Once you've added the markups, you can filter them using the options in the Show popup menu on the Comments pane.

The easiest way to do what you need is to set aside one comment type that you want to hide, simply because you can sort by comment types. So when you start your markup, restrict using Notes comments, for example, to those comments you need to hide/view.

You could also use another name for those comments and then sort by the reviewer name.

One more option that might work for you - and not force you to have to think while you're adding the markup - use checkmarks in the Comments pane after you're finished your markup. Again, you can filter by checked status, and show/hide the ones with checkmarks.
