Hej!

I am setting up small demo about document review.
I provide the link to acrobat.com for the review file.

Demo users shall download the file , open it , respond to some comments do an upload...and so on.
It is very important that users not have to create or login to an
acrobat.com account during this demo. Is this possible?

Some demo users will certainly have a Mac. Will it work the same way for them or
are there diffrences to take care of?

regards

Hi kohler49,

From the FAQ on acrobat.com-

"For published documents, recipients do not need an Acrobat.com account. For unpublished documents, recipients will need to sign up for a free Acrobat.com account to access them. For each document, you decide how restrictive you want to be."

I think it works the same for both Mac and Windows as far as sharing the file- not sure on the commenting capability between the two.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

Hey,

I work with Adobe and saw your post on accessing reviews within Acrobat.com and wanted to let you guys know about another service called Adobe CS Review, which is part of the Adobe CS5 package. CS Review is an online service that allows you to start a review, share it directly from CS5 software, and obtain comments from clients and colleagues directly on your work. You can register for this new creative review service three different ways…either by purchasing a Creative Suite 5 product, downloading a trial, or signing up online for the service itself. It's definitely a great way to simplify the creative review process.

Hi Anders,

We want to do exactly the same thing. How far did you get with this? One of our clients already have this capability, but they don't use the adobe.com site. They have set up their own site. I need to find out how this is done. Does anyone know?

Thanks

Hey Sparrowhawk,

I apologize for the delay in my response. However, I'm a little bit confused by your question. If you would like to know how to register for CS Review and access this program, there are currently three ways...you can purchase a CS5 product, download a trial, or sign up online for the service itself. It's currently complimentary for 12 months - if you would like to read more about it and gain some more information, check out this link: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/cslive/

Thanks. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Andrew, sorry, my mistake. I was asking the OP if he had solved his problem as we have exactly the same need. We do not want to use Adobe.com, indeed we can't due to Data Protection legislation in the UK. We need to find out how we can use Acrobat to share files for review and approval in the way we want it to work. I have set up a WebDAV server which takes the place of the Adobe.com site, but there are two issues still to overcome.

1) There appears to be no real-time notification of published comments on a Mac in Acrobat Pro 9. Windows seems to have this though.

2) We need to be able to send multiple PDFs for review using just one email. One way we could do this is to create a shared review file for each doc and then zip them up and attach to an email in the conventional way. But it would be so much neater if we could do this in Acrobat. I thought I might be able to use portfolios, but even though you can send a portfolio for review, the individual PDFs are not linked for comments.

Cheers
