This would be a great feature if it could be done.
But, that's the point of the Comment Status. Unfortunately they don't provide a visual que like the checkmarks. But Acrobat explicitly popups up a message telling you that the checkmarks are not saved with the PDF.
There is no way from JavaScript to detect or set a checkmark so there's nothing that can be done:(
