The "SEND" button does not show for those invited to comment & RETURN

Anonymous

I am are trying to troubleshoot a situation in which in a work flow involving two computer stations with both having installed a full version of Acrobat Pro 9.0v in a PC environment. (We are testing the work flow before we sent out to more reviewers).

The problem that we are having is that computer 2, when receiving a PDF for review from computer 1, (sent as a 'review by email'), have available the tools to mark corrections but does NOT have the "SENT" button to return to originator (computer 1). Is just not visible in the toolbar.

Then in the reverse order, when computer 2 sends a PDF for review to computer 1, and computer 1 with no troubles, marks and sends it back to computer 2, at the moment of opening, she does not get the "MERGE TO ORIGINAL" message.

The problem seems to be in the setup of computer 2, however, we have looked into the tools menu and the "send" option is checked on, and still does not show. We have tried setting to defaults and then checking again, with no much luck.

Are we missing something? We have looked also at the preferences and there does not seem to be an obvious fix to this problem.

I will appreciate any help or guidance towards a solution from members of this forum,
Thanks in advance,

RocĂo

We had this same situation in our company when testing PDF reviews, this is what solved our issue, hopefully it will with you, but cannot guarantee it, depending on your system and settings.

NO SEND COMMENTS bar. If they click NO to the javascripts when they first open up the reader, they most likely will not get the bar, to fix, they can go to EDIT-PREFERENCES-javascripts, they need to check the enable box at the very top and restart the APP. I was able to replicate this successfully many times.

Also if they go through all the steps getting ready to send for email review, once it opens the email application with the PDF attached, if they open the PDF attached to the email and click SAVE when they are done looking at it, then send it, the recipient will not get the SEND COMMENTS bar. If they DO open this way, they must choose DO NOT SAVE. Again I was able to replicate this also several times.

Again this worked for us, hopefully it will for you as well. we just pushed out program to approximately 400 people and are hoping to go company wide.

hope it helps you
