Text box properties

This post was submitted by me earlier, but I have discovered a few things since then, so I decided to re-edit and resubmit it.

I am experiencing two issues with my Acrobat Pro (v. 8.1.7 running on a Mac OS X v. 10.5.6). Both are related to the comments/markups "Properties" function:

1. I often change the properties (colour, border, pt width, font, etc.) on my PDF markups. But one property keeps acting weird when I try to change it: the border of text boxes. Here's what happens:
I create a text box, right click it, and go to Properties. In the (border) Style drop menu, I choose "No Border". Every time I do this, I get the message "The value must be between 1 and 12.", and I'm unable to remove the border. What's interesting is that if I go to the Properties bar (see below), I can remove the border easily with no error message, but if I right-click and select Properties I'm unable to do that.

2. I constantly use the properties bar (View>Toolbars>Properties bar, or Command+E) in Acrobat - in fact, I leave it on by default, so that whenever I click on a comment, the properties are instantly available for changing. I discovered today that whenever I open a new PDF, the Properties Bar stops working on the previous document and only works on the most recently-opened document. Even if I select a markup in the previous document, the Properties for that markup will become available for change in the new document. The worst: if I close the document I opened last, the Properties bar stops working altogether.
Is there a reason why the Properties bar doesn't work independently on each separate document?

Can these bugs be fixed? Have they been addressed in a recent update of Acrobat Pro 8? or in Acrobat Pro 9?

Thanks!

open your pdf and hit anywhere in the screen, then use the text box tool to insert your text with the border around it. then hit Ctrl E a window should pop up and this is where you make the changes and save them as your default settings.
