text tool box text color/font size

When entering text boxes, the text always shows up as red.
When I click on properties, on the appearance tab, no option comes up to change text color or font size....help !

We need a little more precision on the type of questions asked. Are you talking about the Typewriter tool, the TouchUp Text tool, a Comment Text Box, a form field?

If Form Fields are where you're having the problem (where an Appearance tab exists), is the Locked checkmark checked in the Appearance tab? If so uncheck it. That's about the only issue short of not working on a secured PDF document that I know of that would prevent you from editing Appearance settings for Text fields.

Simply go to View>>Toolbars and check Properties Bar. A Text Box Propoerties bar will open. Then, you have to double click the text in the Comments Text Box to make the Text Box Properities bar change to a Text Box Text Properties bar.
