I use Adobe Acrobat Standard v9, just installed (upgrade from v8).
When attempting to add a xxx.pdf watermark to a document I just created, I get an error message saying "you do not have sufficient permissions to perform this task".
I operate a stand alone one user computer (no children to change settings etc).
Previously, I did not had this problem. Then one day, whilst watermarking a series of files, the error message appeared and is now permanent. It just ceased working after many files were watermarked.
Updating fron v8 to v9 has had no effect. The error message still appears & I can not watermark my documents.
Can someone please assist in overcoming this issue?

The problem was a corrupt pdf watermark file.
In fact, the wmk file had been unknowingly overwritten by another large pdf file so what I was in actual fact trying to do was load a large (multi-page) file in as the watermark. Little wonder the program spat the dummy.
However, it is a pity that the Adobe error message was so cryptic. Even Adobe SE Asia suggested it was a Microsoft operating system problem.
However, problem solved.
I hope other users may benefit from this frustrating experience.
