Windows Vista Business and incompatibility problem with Acrobat 6.0 Pro will not convert MS Office 3.0 Word docs to PDF format. Plugin installs but program just freezes up. Any solutions?

My Product Information:

Acrobat 6 does not support Vista, since it came out LONG BEFORE Vista (even before Vista was Vista ;).

You will need to upgrade to Acrobat 8.

The 8.1 update supports Vista.

Since installing Vista Ultimate, Acrobat Pro & Reader 8, I've experienced routine instability with Acrobat (application closing), whether launched as an application or within a browser (Firefox is my default). Its as though there is insufficient RAM (4g in this core duo system).

Is it possible in Vista to run the program in XP compatability mode?

Download and install the free PrimoPDF http://www.primopdf.com. Once installed, choose this as the printer to create a .pdf document to from Word or any other program. You won't be able to print directly to Adobe Acrobat 6.0 anymore so you might just delete it's icon from your printer list. When you print to Primo it is a little more combersome until you get used to it, but you will be able to create .pdf documents with a Vista operating system that you can then use your Acrobat 6.0 to open.
