Acrobat doesn't run on renamed PCs migrated to new domain

We have recently been acquired by another company and all our PCs have been renamed and migrated to a new domain. Acrobat Standard and Professional now don't work (Adobe Reader does). When Acrobat (ver.7) is started it opens up briefly - for a couple of seconds - and then shuts down. I have tried running it as administrator and have uninstalled and reinstalled the software (retaining the serial number), but it still doesn't run. We are running on Windows XP.
Thanks for your help.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7.0.9, Windows

How were these installed? Repackaged via Tuner or CD installs? Were they ever 'activated'?

My suggestion would be to deactivate the installation.
Remove (via add/remove).
Reboot
Run CCLEANER (to clean up the fiddly bits).
Reboot.
Reinstall and reactivate.

If you run into issues with the reactivation contact Adobe's Technical support 800 number. They can with you to help out with serial number activation reset, if necessary.
