I have downloaded a trial of CS5.5 which includes Acrobat X- for that install Acrobat is the only program which would not install. I need Acrobat, so I downloaded another trial of just Acrobat Pro X- again it would not install.
I have a 32-bit Vista Home Premium, with more than enough RAM and disc space.I meet, and exceed, all the system requirements listed.
Any one have a clue what is going wrong?

Have you got Vista SP2 installed?

Without knowing the error reported by the installer, it's impossible to help - don't bother trying to paste the installation log here as it's enormous, but any hint about what it said when it failed, or how far it got, will help.

FYI the installer for the standalone product and the bundled CS5.5 installer are identical aside from the license server (CS5.5 enabled subscriptions, Acrobat X standalone does not) - so if the CS5.5 bundled copy failed to install, trying a standalone version is doomed to repeat the same error.

Thanks for the reply. It simply said it could not install on my system and I should visit the system requirements page- which I did. My system complies with no problems.

So, after waiting for the download, I began the setup process and when the dialogue went to install, it did not take long to figure out it would not install on my system. Yes, I received a similar message with the CS 5.5 setup, which said my system requirements are not sufficient. But they are and thus my frustration.

Any thoughts?

Thanks a ton =]

I thought I checked all the post prior to posting my own question, but I missed one which talks about the same issues. I am installing SP1 and SP2 to see if it will take care of my issues.

Thanks All,
