Acrobat.com folder opens on startup

When I start my windows XP laptop, my C:\Program Files\Acrobat\Acrobat.com file folder opens and is displayed. In order to continue, I must close the folder. Can the folder be deleted? If not, how can I set it to not open at each startup?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

I have the same thing happening. It started a few days ago. I opened Acrobat and it gave me a rather standard 'update is available, would you like to download and install?'

I said yes, and now every time Windows (XP) starts, the Acrobat.com folder opens. The folder that opens has an address of: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat.com.

I am using Acrobat Reader 9.0.0.

THanks!

As a temporary workaround you can delete the AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) app folder (located in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat.com) if you don't use Acrobat.com.

If You care to make a search on google You will find that this problem is NOT a small one!
How long does it take for Acrobat to make a fix for it? (its not exactly a new problem!)

No, it's not a new problem at this point. The following suggestions to workaround the issue are taken from the Acrobat.com forum at:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=76&catid=710&threadid=1378485&enterthread=yThere is a Run/RunOnce reg entry that's pointing to the AIR folder. The entry may be lacking quotes, so it opens the folder up "instead" of the AIR app.

Current workarounds have been:
1. Uninstall the Acrobat.com AIR App… You can find it in the Add/Remove Programs control panel under "Acrobat.com" and may be towards the top of the list.
2. Delete the AIR app folder (located in: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat.com). This will not affect your Reader install at all.

If, later, you'd like to reinstall the acrobat.com AIR application, then you can download it from Adobe.com and regain that functionality with Acrobat.com.

All I had to do to fix it on my XP laptop was:
Open Control Panel
Add Remove Programs
Uninstall Acrobat.com
Restart my system
No more problem

Have a great day !!

It's part of the Acrobat forms/review distribution feature.

Same problem here. It started after I first used the reviewing tools.

I have Acrobat 8 Professional and Adobe Reader 9.

Will removing acrobat.com (or deleting the folder) disable revewing and/or break some of the features of my full version of acrobat?

I am willing to edit the registry to fix this. What needs to be changed?

From http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407354.php:

Solution 2: Add Quotes to unquoted path(s) in the Registry.
1.Choose Start > Run (or for Vista you can use the Start Search box).
2.Type regedit and press Enter.
3.Navigate to the following registry key locations, and add quotes to the file path:
Example:
Original key -
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AdobeUpdateManager.exe AcRdB7_0_5 -reboot 1
Will become -
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AdobeUpdateManager.exe" AcRdB7_0_5 -reboot 1

Known Keys that may cause this issue:

Acrobat Reader 7.x
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\updateMgr

Acrobat 8.1 (After using Shared Review or adding RSS Subscriptions)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Adobe Acrobat Synchronizer
