WHENEVER I OPEN ACROBAT PROFESSIONAL 8.1 IT GIVES ME THIS ERROR:
The instruction at "0x04221243" referenced memory at "0x12284e88". The memory could not be "written".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
 
HOW DO I FIX THIS?

Try un-installing Acrobat and re-installing it again. Also click Help and Repair Installation before you try the above. Check the system requirements for installing Acrobat to make sure your machine meets the requirements.

I have Adobe Reader 9.0 on my PC. I just purchased and downloaded Acrobat 8 Professional and now get this message when I open it. I also can't open all PDF files.

Should I remove Adobe Reader 9.0 and then reinstall Acrobat 8 Professional?

I had a problem when I initially installed Acrobat 8 Professional that I would open the program and then it would close by itself. I ran the feature to correct the installation, reinstalled, etc., then started getting the above error.
