MS Word has to be installed BEFORE installing Acrobat. That is the only way Word will add the PDF converter icon to the menu bar.

Try this.

Uninstall Acrobat (note: make sure to deactivate Acrobat before uninstalling).

Run Disk Cleanup and defrag the hard drive. If you know how, inspect the Systems registry to make sure Acrobat has been completely removed.

Make use MS Word and Windows has all updates.

Reinstall Acrobat. Download all undates.

I found that if you delete the Normal.dot after installing Acrobat Standard 8 then Word will work. It is usually user specific. Go to C:\Document and Settings\persons profile\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates and you will find it in there.

I have the same problem, but when I searched for Normal.dot, it does not exist. Don't mean to steal the thread, but what to do?
