When you open the CS2 Installer from Disk 1 you'll see a screen appear with all the CS apllications. You can uncheck all programs except Acrobat and follow the install guidelines to install just Acrobat.

Hi,

I found this post and I belive you might be able to help with an installation problem.

I uninstalled the CS2 Premium Suite and now I cannot re-install Acrobat 7.0 Professinal as you directed above. At the screen where you select applications, the Acrobat 7.0 Professional has an * after it and at the bottom of the screen the note says "Items marked with an (*) are already installed outside the suite and will not be installed". I can not select it for installation.

I have searched the entire computer for left overs and even ran CrapCleaner. There are no Adobe products on this PC but still the installer says Acrobat 7.0 Professional is already installed.

History- After a Microsoft Office update things stopped working correctly. Everytime I tried to run an Office product the Microsoft installer would pop up and say that something needed to be installed from the disk. In the EventViewer there were warnings like Detection of product '{AC76BA86-1033-0000-7760-000000000002}', feature 'Distiller', component '{D50FF01E-D76A-4BA3-A271-95B941FE2F09}' failed. The resource 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Adobe PDF\Example Files\' does not exist.

It was true - that path no longer existed. And that is why I uninstalled and then tried to reinstall.

I have not been able to find any help with this for 2 weeks now. Any ideas?

Rob,

Time for a deep dive - grab your re-breather. This one could take longer than even two tanks will handle.

Remember to breath slowly and steadily.
