Here is what i found, and it worked for me. Acrobat doesnt shut automatically anymore....: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb401528
Move the Trusted Storage File (TSF) out of the FLEXnet folder. Move the adobe_00080000.tsf.data file onto the desktop or to another safe location from the Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/FLEXnet folder (Windows XP), ProgramData\FLEXnet folder (Windows Vista), or the Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet folder (Mac OS). Important: Do not delete this file. Removing this file disallows you to get any Adobe Tryout applications. Try opening your Creative Suite 3 application. If you still cannot open the application, then continue to the next step.
I moved the adobe_00080000.tsf.data file onto the desktop and opened Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.0 again. However it still closed itself again after a couple of seconds and created a new adobe_00080000.tsf.data file at the old position of the previous one!
